Well known for his many sports books like King and Country The Denis Law story; Seeing Red, the Chic Charnley story; Caesar and the Assassin; Winds of Change; most recently That Season in Paradise;   and many more, Alex Gordon had his book of hilarious anecdotes Jinx Dog Burns Now Flu published by Ringwood in 2015 to great acclaim, including a memorable appearance at the 2016 Aye Write Festival.

Ringwood are delighted to announce they have acquired the rights to the first Charlie Brock novel Who Shot Wild Bill? (described by the Daily Record as “a rumbustious debut novel”) and are even more delighted to announce the launch of the second book in the series What Spooked Crazy Horse?

Like the first Charlie Brock mystery novel, What Spooked Crazy Horse? is set mainly in Millport, although the action swings furiously from cities as diverse as Barcelona and Glasgow. It is the story of a missing Scottish Internationalist footballer, Derek ‘Crazy Horse’ Laird, one of the highest paid footballers on the planet, and what lies behind the mystery of his sudden disappearance that leaves two countries Scotland and Spain agog and anxious.

With a the mixture of mystery, action, humour and philosophy that makes Charlie Brock’s adventures so beguiling, What Spooked Crazy Horse? will consolidate Alex Gordon’s growing reputation as an author of highly entertaining fiction. Charlie Brock has been described favourably as Scotland’s answer to the legendary  Kinky Friedman mystery novels.

Alex Gordon, a very entertaining speaker will speak at his launch and we expect the event will be graced by some of the famous football personalities he has written books about. All books sold on the night will be signed personally by Alex.
